Everything is ready in Borgo Egnazia for the start of the work of the G7 under the Italian presidency. American President Joe Biden arrived late yesterday evening while in the resort hosting the summit, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will shortly welcome all the leaders, before the family photo that will open the proceedings. The first session, late in the morning, will be dedicated to Africa, the climate and development, opening a busy agenda of meetings, including bilateral ones, for three days where wars will dominate, from support for Ukraine to the position of the Greats on the Middle East. The situation in Gaza will be the theme of the second session of work, while the third will be dedicated to Kiev, in the presence of Volodymyr Zelensky. The United States hopes to close today the agreement between the Seven on the use of profits from frozen Russian assets to finance the war, while the US-Ukraine security agreement will be signed in the bilateral meeting between Zelensky and Joe Biden. In the afternoon, a G7 event on Partnership for global infrastructure and investment is scheduled. Following the flag ceremony, the family photo before concluding the first day of work with the dinner hosted by President Sergio Mattarella at the Castello Svevo in Brindisi.
