L’AQUILA – The first group of students from the IIS “A. will leave on Friday 14 June. d’Aosta” of L’Aquila for an intensive internship on STEM which will take place at the Green Energy Park of the Fenice Foundation in Padua.

The activity, entirely financed by PNRR funds – Ministerial Decree 65/2023 “STEM and multilingual skills in state schools”, involves a 5-day study stay for 4 groups, in the months of June and September 2024, of 27 female students and students of the future third and fourth classes of the Institute at the Fenice Foundation Campus.

The purpose of the paths, activated on the basis of the indications contained in the Guidelines for STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), is the promotion of equal gender opportunities in access to STEM studies and careers as well as the strengthening of digital and innovation skills among students.

At the Green Energy Park of the Fenice foundation, girls and boys will compare themselves, in the context of practical and laboratory activities, on topics linked to sustainable development such as smart citiesrenewable energies, plastics and microplastics, biofuels and will participate in educational workshops on the application of drones and robotics in daily activities.

There will be no shortage of cultural activities such as visiting the city and sites of historical and scientific interest.
The educational activities will be held by expert trainers in possession of documented skills in the STEM disciplines and the topics of the course, assisted by tutors who will coordinate groups of 9 students for each topic.

The proposal which will involve 108 students, in addition to the promotion of STEM skills, in line with the profile and objectives of the Institute, intends to show how science and technology can contribute to sustainable development and the creation of a planet green and offer virtuous examples to intervene on the consciences, behaviors and professionalism of adults of the future.
