Today’s edition of “Il Giornale di Sicilia” focuses on the issue of redemptions and loans at Palermo.

The line is drawn and it is the same as in 2023: no player arriving on loan with the right to buy will see Palermo exercise the option in their favour. The experience of Mancuso, Henderson, Coulibaly and Traorè in the rosanero is therefore to be considered closed: the City Group would have until tomorrow to make the redemption count (the time window in which it can be exercised is 12-14 June), but given the non-optimal contribution of the four will move towards other options also based on the indications that will come from Dionisi and De Sanctis.

If for Henderson, Coulibaly and Traorè the farewell was already certain at the end of the championship, some doubts crept in on Mancuso when the former Empoli and Sassuolo coach took office at Palermo: in fact the current number 7 is in Tuscany rosanero had been one of the protagonists in the race for promotion and it was thought that Dionisi could push for confirmation, but no signal in this sense came from the club and Mancuso will return to Monza in the next few days, where he still has one year left on his contract; the City Group could then attempt a downward renegotiation, but he will hardly be the first choice for an offensive department that will need to be massively renewed.

The window from 15 to 17 June will instead be that of counter-payments: the only player on which Palermo holds this formula is Corona, on whom Empoli have not yet released their reserves after a 19-goal championship in the Primavera. The Tuscans have until tomorrow to exercise the right of redemption, after which the pinks will have three days to decide whether to exercise the option in their favor for a figure close to 500 thousand euros: in this case Corona would be useful not so much as a prospect future as much as a bargaining chip for some market operation. In this sense, the City Group could monitor the issue linked to Cacace, owned by Empoli but with a high price: the inclusion of Corona as a partial compensation could lower the asking price for the New Zealander (first request 4 million euros).
