Buggiano (Pistoia), 13 June 2024 – A community closed like a hedgehog, in its own defense, against a world, the external one, which is not authorized to enter. And now, however, internally divided, after the terrible crime which took place at dawn on Tuesday 11 June, with the discovery of the body of one 39 year old woman, Giusy Levacovichmother of three children, strangled, probably with a shirt tied around her neck, and then abandoned in the courtyard in front of the prefabricated house where she lived with her family.
It will only be theautopsy, already arranged by the deputy prosecutor Leonardo De Gaudio, who directs the investigations of the Pistoia carabinieri, to be able to establish the exact time of the attack which took place in the nomadic neighborhood of via XXIV Maggio, in the Molin Nuovo area, in the countryside of Buggiano. A death that for some would have been announced if the guilt of the husband, currently the main suspect, was ascertained, given the repeated episodes of violence of which the woman was allegedly the victim. Episodes told by those who knew the family, but of which there was no trace of a complaint or hospital reports.
Meanwhile other details emerge of this umpteenth femicide. It would have been another resident of the community who found the woman’s body on Tuesday morning, in the courtyard where the prefabricated houses overlook. There are four families, almost all related to each other, around twenty people are part of the community, which then extends well beyond the courtyard where the prefabricated buildings are located, into the street and in the area populated by villas almost all inhabited by Sinti families, settled in the area for some time now.
The Husband of the victim, Marco Satori, 44 years old, already known to the police for a history of small thefts, was heard at the provincial police headquarters on Tuesday evening. It would have been he who showed up spontaneously, after having left his home for several hours, and would have made some statements, above all to clarify details regarding what happened in the days preceding the macabre discovery.
There Power of attorney of Pistoia, deputy Leonardo De Gaudio, who heads the Carabinieri investigations, has opened a case for voluntary homicide: no one has been arrested so far. The great work of the Carabinieri was concentrated throughout yesterday on verifying the testimonies collected. A composite picture, given the family connections of the community to which the victim belonged. While the three children, one little more than a newborn, were entrusted to a family member.
The first answers on this new disturbing crime will arrive today: the autopsy will probably be carried out in the afternoon by the coroner Brunero Begliomini in the Pescia hospital. It will be fundamental to understand whether the death occurred, as hypothesized by the signs found on the neck, by strangulation and above all the precise time: a window that limits the killer’s movements as much as possible.
