The guests

Luciano Canfora, Giancarlo De Cataldo, Francesca Fagnani, Sigfrido Ranucci, Carlo Massarini, Giorgio Vallortigara, Paolo Nori, Pegah Moshir Pour, Viola Ardone, Giobbe Covatta, Ninni Bruschetta, Michele Masneri and many other authors will be the protagonists of this new edition of the festival conceived and directed by Alessandro Di Salvo and with guest directors Antonio Pascale, Massimo Polidoro, Federico Taddia and Paolo Verri.

Four days of meetings, shows, lessons and debates that will occupy the enchanting spaces of the Sicilian baroque city, involving a larger audience every year.

The inauguration

It will open on Thursday 13 June with an evening dedicated to the seventy years of Italian television with the special event on the seafront of Marina di Ragusa, called “70 TIMES TIVÚ”, hosted by Antonio Pascale and Paolo Verri, and then on Friday 14 and until the evening of Sunday 16th, to enter the true soul of the literary review.

This year’s poster

The graphics, signed again this year by the MediaLive agency, reproduce some pages of books and a full moon on which a reader is sitting immersed in reading. The presence of the stars next to the moon represents the festival as a festival of books, animated by meetings that last until late in the evening, transforming the historic center of Ragusa into a place of culture and discovery. The profile of the reader sitting on the moon evokes imagination and fantasy, offering a visual interpretation of the magic of reading and the journey that it brings with it.

The pages of the books, leafed through in an almost dancing and floating movement, symbolize the flow of knowledge and the unique experience that each reader has during the festival. A clear invitation to all literature lovers to participate in a one-of-a-kind event, where culture manifests itself from morning to evening, invading squares and buildings, even under a starry sky, while words come to life.

Extra volume

Alongside the busy official programme, which includes around 50 meetings, “Extravolume” also returns, with dozens and dozens of off meetings promoted by regional and national associations and publishing houses. Four days of cultural events but also of sun, sea, good food, baroque and above all lots of books.
