This was declared by the candidate for mayor of Bari, Fabio Romito, who on June 23 and 24 will challenge his centre-left rival Vito Leccese in the last electoral contest which will decide the new mayor.
“From now until June 24th almost all government ministers will be guests in the city – announced Romito – Ministers Valditara, Pichetto Fratin and Tajani confirmed their presence. The ministers Sangiuliano, Crosetto, Bernini, Zangrillo will also be there. We await the availability of 4 other ministers“.
Fabio Romito also criticized Michele Laforgia’s decision to support Vito Leccese in the run-off for the mayor’s seat of Bari.”We had already anticipated it during the election campaign, but now ‘the left’ have thrown away the mask – said Romito – I have deep respect for the people who supported Michele Laforgia in the first round, and who asked (even in a ‘brutal’ way) for change and discontinuity. A term that Laforgia himself used throughout the electoral campaign. Now we learn that it was just a tactic to gather a few more votes. The facts say it: today, in a joint declaration, they announce that they will not join forces, which means that the seats destined for the opposition and gained by Michele Laforgia will be kept, with the votes of those who wanted to make an alternative choice to the one proposed by administration. Now those elected with Laforgia are ready to support the continuity of Vito Leccese, solely and exclusively out of interest. Even worse is taking away seats from minorities by declaring right now to sit with the majority, a choice of infinite political disloyalty. We say to their voters: continue to have courage and return to vote for the only real change, crossing the name of Fabio Romito on the ballot“.
