Treviso, the man who had the video “Now I’ll reveal the Covid lie” goes to trial for defamation

The swabs? «A bitch…» And information on the pandemic? «Media terrorism that it serves to magnify in order to hide the mask business.” It cannot be said that Francesco Fella did not have clear ideas about institutional communication in the times of the pandemic from Covid 19.
In an attempt to unmask what he believed were “state lies”, in November 2020 he had made an amateur reportage inside the Ca’ Foncello and had spread it through his Facebook page.

The “no vax” tribe

«We are inside – he said accompanying the images – and there is not a soul alive. Silence. Furthermore, we are in the section for infectious patients, the one equipped with resuscitation and everything that would be needed for the emergency of a pandemic. But there is nothing here, zero.” Music to the ears of the articulate “no vax” tribe, deniers and conspiracy theorists so much so that those images had been shared by at least five hundred people. However, they all got into a lot of trouble since Local Health Authority 2 had decided to report them complaining how that video minimized the emergency that was underway showing the corridors of the hospital and the emergency room completely empty.

Justice knocks at the door

Three and a half years after that incident, justice is now knocking on Fella’s door. On July 8th the 46-year-old, resident in Treviso and defended by the lawyer Helga Lopresti, will appear before the judge to answer of defamation, trespass and illicit interference in the private life of healthcare personnel, filmed with the mobile phone without their knowledge. The leaders of the Treviso health company write in the complaint that «the information contained in the video is false, biased and aimed at discrediting the reliability of pandemic data communications provided to the community”. On November 10, 2020, Francesco Fella entered the hospital for an inspection which, in his opinion, should have been “thorough”. «Good morning, they told me that you have very few patients in intensive care. It is true?» he asked the reception workers, who didn’t know they were being filmed with their cell phones. «I am doing some services in various hospitals in Italy – he had added with confidence – I understand that the resuscitations are almost empty and the patients they are not intubated. The truth is this and you know it well.” Then she reached the emergency room. «Everything is empty here too, look – he repeated, framing a screen in the waiting room – there are just three priorities. Zero emergencies.”

The fury against journalists

Fella says he is not afraid of the trial that is about to begin and from which, to be honest, runs the risk of not getting out then so good. «But what complaint – he responded to the Corriere del Veneto at the time of the complaint – you journalists create panic, you carry out media terrorism, you are complicit in the system and the vaccine business. Swabs are useless, it’s people like you who are bankrupting the nation.”
