Sicily, beyond the pandemic: project to combat the NEET phenomenon in Southern Italy

In the meeting theAVSIin partnership with organizations active in the area that are participating in the “Beyond the pandemic” project, supported by the Charity Fund, works of a social and cultural nature by Intesa Sanpaolo and by Foundation with the southwill present to Catania the results achieved, for the 105 young people involved in the area Sicilian.

The projectwhich overall also covers the territory of Naplesaims to counteract the phenomenon of neet (English acronym Not engaged in Education, Employment or Training), with the aim of reducing marginalization and social exclusion, through investment in the educational and personal growth of 175 young people Naples, Catania And Palermo. An initiative that aims to enhance the contribution and skills of the new generations, in a country context where according to the 2022 statistics EurostatL’Italy has a rate of young neets (between 16 and 34 years) of 19%, a figure higher than the European average (11.7%). The action is designed for youngwho left early school and who come from contexts of marginality and social, cultural and economic hardship. The objective is to help them reactivate in society, through educational and training plans, strengthening their potential and their motivation for looking for work, increasing their employment opportunities and promoting job placement.

Activities include courses for the research of the Workdigital literacy and courses Of professional training in the sector ofassistance and care for personwith internships with families and educational facilities.
