RIMINI: Wind farm at sea, Spinelli at the ministry, “the territory doesn’t want it”

“The start of work on the offshore wind farm in Rimini in 2025 is utopian. And then the territory doesn’t want it”. Thus the Fratelli d’Italia senator Mimma Spinelli, former mayor of Coriano, returning from a meeting at the Ministry of the Environment on the topic.

The huge wind farm planned off the coast of Rimini is far from being close to completion. A project widely opposed by the area. This is the summary of Fratelli d’Italia senator Mimma Spinelli at the end of a meeting at the Ministry of the Environment to clarify the bureaucratic steps. A summary which, for the former mayor of Coriano, refutes the triumphalism of the private company Energia Wind 2020 which wants to carry out the project off the coast of Rimini.

“The Via decree should arrive within a few days, the real journey begins there, so it is only the beginning. So what the CEO of the private company said is truly utopian, “that the project could begin in 2025,” said the senator.

Spinelli wants to see clearly, evaluate the pros and cons of the project, maintaining a direct line with the ministry.

“They are preparing a dossier for me in which I need to have all the various steps that have taken place starting from 2020. As soon as this dossier is ready we will convene a meeting in Rome with all the categories,” said Spinelli.

The senator reminded the ministry of the impact that such a facility could have on the area’s tourism economy.

“The territory doesn’t want it and therefore I reiterated to all the technical actors and also to the undersecretary Claudio Barbaro that there is strong opposition from the territory”, concluded the former first citizen.
