The State Exams will begin on June 19th, with the first written Italian test. A message to future graduates comes from the bishop of the Diocese of Mazara, Monsignor Angelo Giurdanella: «Exams are a concrete and symbolic passage in your life at the same time. The concrete part will be one of the many tests of life, the symbolic part is linked to a new stage of your existence which, between university for some and immediate work for others (and in any case for everyone in perspective), begins to be an adult life” . This is one of the passages of the letter that the Bishop wrote for the graduating students of the diocesan territory. In the letter, the Bishop refers to dialogue, “that with yourselves, giving you times of silence, readings that help deeper contacts, authentic conversations and, for believers, prayer as a spring source”. He then adds: «In taking care of the world I wish you the awareness, so dear to Ghandi, that with our lives we are the first change we want in the world. What is important then is participation in the life of the city, lifestyles marked by solidarity and sobriety, and care for Creation. A change in lifestyle could come to exert healthy pressure on those who hold political, economic and social power. We are all responsible for peace, protection and care of Creation.” Finally, the Bishop, again in the letter, refers to Don Puglisi, Falcone Borsellino, judge Rosario Livatino, Peppino Impastato and the trace they left with their courageous life path.
