The Brindisi flying team took care of the seizure of the ship Goddess of the Night, moored at the port of Brindisi, due to numerous public complaints received in recent days. “The ship, we remember, hosted over 2,500 police officers, aggregated in Puglia for the G7 security service, and It was in terrible sanitary conditions: dirty and damaged accommodation, unusable toilets, dilapidated showers, flooded cabins” announced Domenico Pianese, general secretary of the Coisp police union.

In the early hours of this morning, SIM CC leaders were able to verify the arrival of the new ship docked in the port of Brindisi which will have to provide hospitality to colleagues. “A first glimmer of light to restore the dignity of colleagues”. Thus the general secretary of SIM CC Antonio Serpi – “but this is not enough. Now we will get on board to be absolutely certain that the accommodation and food conditions of our colleagues can be called such. We will leave Brindisi only when these conditions exist.”
For SIM CC, the joint commitment of the unions of all the police forces allowed the solution to be started critical issues which we now hope can be definitively resolved in the short term. Also good is the commitment of the Prefect made with SIM CC – continues Serpi – to make a request to the Ministry for further funds to increase the overtime hours of colleagues. Yesterday morning the General Secretary of the SIM CC Antonio Serpi, together with the deputies Antonio Aprile and Riccardo Monti, after having met the Prefect of Brindisi, receiving reassurances on the imminent solution of the very serious accommodation problems found on the cruise ship flying the Greek flag, went on the ship talking to colleagues and checking the actual unworthy conditions where they were supposed to stay.
