It will be a morning totally dedicated to protection of the sea the one of Saturday 15 June in Portici which will see dialogue in a harmonious manner coastline and Tyrrhenian Sea in line with the fundamental principles of Blue Economy.

At 10.00 am at the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station will be held workshops entitled “Recovery and conservation of sea-coast heritage: the Pelikan System and the Coastal Operation” and to follow, at 12.00The launch of the Pelikan-class anti-pollution vessel “Golden Mile” financed under the Local Development Strategy of FLAG Golden Mile Coast measure 4.63 PO EMFF Campania 2014/2020 for the restoration of biodiversity in aquatic environments.

A moment of divided in-depth analysis between elements of strategy linked to the foundations of the European Green Deal in the first part of the morning which will culminate with concrete action of the launch of the actual “Miglio d’Oro” boat floating laboratory realized by Garbage Group with full electric propulsion which will carry out its mission of cleaning, depolluting and monitoring the coastal waters from a 360 degree sustainability perspective, producing zero emissions.

The day will see the participation of Vincenzo Cuomo Mayor of Portici, Luigi Mennella Mayor of Torre del Greco, Ciro Buonajuto Mayor of Herculaneum, Pasquale Ciotta Commander of the Port Authority of Portici, Ida Montanaro Commander of the Port Authority of Torre del Greco, Nicola Caputo Councilor for Agriculture of the Campania Region, Antonella Cammarano FLAG regional contact person – Responsible for EMFF Priority IV, Maurizio Minichino President Flag Coast Golden Mile, Luca Tortora Director Flag Litorale Miglio d’Oro e Paolo Baldoni CEO Garbage Group. The workshop will be coordinated and moderated by the journalist and sociologist Giuseppe Giorgio. The day is open to citizens and the press is invited to participate.
