“From my point of view – says Nunzi – it seemed silly to send away the redundant street vendors. Which happened this year.”

There are around forty stands that are part of the market, plus 5 dedicated to Tuscia. But there would have been more questions.

“The requests – explains the mayor Chiara Frontini – exceeded the spaces available thanks to the success of last year, when 45 thousand people visited the market. For next year we are thinking about expanding the route.”

The inauguration of the market, tomorrow at the end of the city council meeting.

In the council room this morning, together with Nunzi and Frontini, there are also the president and director of the Viterbo Automobile Club, Sandro Zucchi and Lino Rocchi respectively, and Mauro Vinciotti, commander of the local police.

As for the Mille Miglia, “this year’s format – explains Frontini – will be different. No longer a passage with stamp control, but the historic cars will stop at the Valle Faul car park. Here you can admire and take photos.”

“The European Market – adds the mayor – gave us great satisfaction last year, with many visitors. An event with food from all over the world.”

“The Mille Miglia costs money – specifies Zucchi – and the municipality of Viterbo has been investing in the event for years. I hope that next year the passage with the stamp will return, given that this year it was impossible for the shipyards to implement it”.

“For next year – continues Rocchi – we will try to bring a special stage of the Mille Miglia to Viterbo”.

“For the European market – concludes Vinciotti – we will reserve the parking lot in Largo Marconi for stand workers”.

Finally, the antiques market scheduled for Sunday 16 June will take place in Piazza della Rocca and San Faustino, and not in Piazza dei Caduti, as usually happens every third Sunday of the month.
