Between confirmations, new entries, returns and failed elections, the new municipal council of Mazara del Vallo has taken shape, whose first session will be chaired by Francesco Foggia who, with 939 votes, was the most voted candidate among the over 300 aspiring councilors. And precisely that of Foggia is one of the returns to the chamber of 31 March 1946: the exponent of La Forza dei Fatti was already a municipal councilor but in the last 5 years he was not part of the assembly due to the well-known events of 2019 which led to the his list due to his failure to participate in the then electoral competition. Giampaolo Caruso also returns to the council after 5 years, elected third on the list of Brothers of Italy, and Michele Reina, the only one elected in Forza Italia, also returns to the city council. The latter, as will be remembered, was elected in the last elections but having been appointed councilor in the Quinci council he resigned from his position as councilor almost immediately. However, there were several confirmations of councilors present in the first Quinci council meeting: Germana Abbagnato; Giuseppe Bonanno; Antonella Coronetta, Gianfranco Casale; Giorgio Randazzo; Francesco Di Liberti; Paola Caltagirone; Valentina Grillo; Pietro Marino; Giovanni Iacono; Francesca Calcara; Massimo Giardina. Matteo Bommarito, Stefania Marascia, Nicola Norrito, Maurizio Pipitone, Isidonia Giacalone, Ilenia Quinci, Giuseppe Palermo, Pino Bianco, Girolamo Billardello, Enza Chirco, Cesare Gilante and Arianna D’Alfio attempted to re-elect but failed to obtain the result. Finally, there are the new entries who will sit in the city council for the first time: Pietro Ferro; Paola Galuffo; Aleandro Gilante, Toni Russo; Eleonora Arena, Bice Mineo, Dario Scaletta and Francesco Giacalone. New entry will also be Vita Ippolito who, after having held the position of councilor several years ago, will sit on the city council by right having been second place as a candidate for mayor.
