Healthcare, Muscarà: “Serious shortcomings and injustices in Campania”

Naples.

“I have written to the Minister of Health and the competent offices to denounce the serious shortcomings of the Campania healthcare system which even go beyond the law on waiting lists and on public services provided to private individuals. Now let’s see if the rights for patients, in addition to writing them on the plans and decrees are respected – the independent councilor Marì Muscarà wrote in a complaint to the minister Orazio Schillaci – I reported to the minister the very serious discrepancies that exist between the provision of medical services with the NHS, in many hospitals almost zero for some categories, and delivery under intramoenia regime in the Local Health Authority Na 1 Centre.

After having carefully read the ‘law decree containing urgent measures to guarantee the timing of the provision of services for the reduction of waiting lists and other urgent healthcare provisions’ in which a national system for governing waiting lists is established (Singla) following the national plan for governing waiting lists (Pingla), it is understood that the law exists and must only be respected.

With Singla we plan to combat the painful problem of waiting lists and reiterate the need for the doctors of the national health system to take complete care of the patient, particularly for chronic or disabling oncological pathologies. Article 8 provides for the establishment of the register of reports for failure to respect citizens’ rights regarding healthcare services, which reaffirms and strengthens the position and rights of citizens in the national healthcare service – continues Muscarà -. Meanwhile, the answer to a question of mine in the Regional Council makes it clear how serious the problem is considering the very few services provided to the public in favor of intramoenia.

It almost seems like a self-declaration of the region. These are data referring to the year 2022, unfortunately I have not yet been given a response on the data I requested for 2023, as soon as they are in my possession I will promptly send them again to the minister. The same documentation was presented by me to the prosecutor’s office. The time has come for these serious injustices to stop as soon as possible” – concluded councilor Muscarà.
