Prato formalizes the hiring of new sporting director Giancluca Berti

It was like Pulcinella’s secret, but now it’s official. With an official press release, Prato confirmed the hiring of Gianluca Berti as sporting director. Here is the company press release:

“The society AC Prato is pleased to announce that the Sports Director for the 2024/25 season is Gianluca Berti. DS in Serie C with Carrarese and, in the last two seasons, General Manager with Signa, Gianluca Berti also has an important career as a professional goalkeeper behind him.
His debut was with Prato Calcio and he subsequently wore the shirts of Roma, Fiorentina, Genoa, Sampdoria, Empoli, Palermo and Parma in Serie A.
We welcome Gianluca and wish him good luck in his work.”

In the meantime, the company is working to comply with the requirements for registration for the next Serie D championship. The documentation must be presented by 6 pm on 12 July: the disclaimers, certifying payment up to 31 May 2024 in favor of of players and coaches as provided for in the deposited contracts, as well as the reimbursement of expenses, again as of 31 May 2024, in favor of volunteer players and coaches. Furthermore, the registration fee of €16,000 for the first team and €2,000 for the Junior team must be paid, and a bank guarantee of €31,000 must be presented. In short, we are starting to take the first steps of the new season.
