TARANTO – Great success with the public for the evening which celebrated the conclusion of the two Festivals reserved for Taranto amateur theater companies: the “Alfredo Majorano” and the “Premio Città di Taranto”.

This year too, thanks to an idea from the Municipality of Taranto, Department of Culture and Entertainment, FITA, the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, the Teatro Comunale Fusco, entrusted to the Lino Conte Theater Company as an organisation, have given the opportunity to many reality of the territory to bring their works on stage, in the home of the Taranto Theater. The same ones who were selected by a special jury made up of actors, directors, poets and writers, headed by Lino Conte, authentic “Deus ex machina” of both events, after a careful and scrupulous evaluation, decreed the winners Unstable company “Napolinscena” with “Le voci diinterno” for the Premio città di Taranto, while “La Rotaia” with “Á morte de carnevale” won the prize for shows in dialect “Alfredo Majorano”, now in its fourth Edition.

The awards ceremony took place last Friday 14 June in the evocative setting of the Fusco Theatre, crowded for the occasion by all the participating companies, in an authentic festive atmosphere and in the presence of the local authorities.

Present on behalf of the Municipality of Taranto were the councilor Angelica Lussoso and the councilor for Public Education, Desirée Petrosillo, for the Teatro Fusco the director Michelangelo Busco and for Fita Puglia, representing the regional President Anna Maria Carella, the provincial coordinator Teresa Fumarola.

This year the Tarantino actor Massimo Cimaglia was also on stage and wanted to be present at the event and reward the companies. Important awards were awarded during the gala evening. Among these, the lifetime achievement award was given to the journalist and director of the Antenna Sud television station, Gianni Sebastio. But the most touching moment of the event occurred when the Press Prize was awarded to the unforgettable journalist from Taranto who recently passed away, the late Angelo Caputo (his wife and son received the prize).

Hosted by the journalist Leo Spalluto, in the presence of all the jurors, we witnessed a beautiful evening, where the Theater was the master, as it should be.
