Cagliari, the CGIL brings music to the streets in the name of work

A collection of signatures began a month and a half ago for the popular referendum to “protect stable, safe and dignified work”. In Sardinia they have reached over 20 thousand signatures, but they aim to reach at least double that number. This is the challenge of the CGIL which denounces in Italy “work that is too precarious with wages that are too low. Three people die working every day. To achieve the maximum possible profit, contracts, subcontracts, fake cooperatives, outsourcing of activities have become normal organizational models of every private and public company”, states Fausto Durante, regional leader of the union, recalling that this situation is nothing more than the fruit of twenty years of wrong laws “which have led to a clear worsening of the living and working conditions of people who have to work to live”. To relaunch the collection of signatures, on Saturday 15 June, from 6pm, the CGIL organized the “Relay for work” event in Piazza del Carmine in Cagliari. Art, music and entertainment together in the name of work. Among others, there will be: Almamediterranea, Rita Atzeri, Duo Animas, Dottor Drer & Crc Posse, Matteo Sau, Joe Perrino and many other artists from the Sardinian scene.
