Crotone – After last Thursday’s success at the debut, the journalists of Crotone This evening they will once again take on the role of mafia men and women, on stage to help the Unitalsi subsection. It will be repeated this evening at 9pm, again at the Villa Comunale of Crotone, with a coming and going of men and women from the underworld.
A way to reflect on the mafia phenomenon, to make fun of it a little and to take a position: being on the side of those who fight the ‘Ndrangheta.
Already from the first entrance, the Madonna and San Michele, the first applause started, a sign that this year too the comedy of the Crotone journalists would leave a mark in the city community.
After last year’s experience, with “Journalism is dead, long live journalists“, in which the reporters joked about their profession, with “Crime Comedy – Santi i ghiesa e diavuli i casa” the ‘ndrangheta is pilloried. The comedy was written by Giacinto Carvelli, editor of Il Quotidiano del Sud, and is directed by director Rodolfo Calaminici.
Mala baptisms, words of honor, challenges between the bosses, arranged marriages between the characters who will take turns on stage this evening.
The show involves many of the signatures and well-known faces of Crotone journalism. The story starts from the desire for “revenge” of the saints on whom the ‘Ndrangheta members carry out the so-called criminal baptism: then it is a succession of scenes which, between the serious and the facetious, between denunciation and irony, highlight on the one hand the dangerous infiltration of crime into everyday life and on the other hand they ridicule those values, such as family, honor and respect, which the ‘Ndrangheta in its criminal vision has emptied of meaning, filling them only with violence and abuse. So there will be powerful bosses who argue over jokes and men of honor who don’t even rule at home.
The show was much appreciated, with a real competition among the audience to choose their favorite comedy, whether that of last year or the current one. Both offer food for thought and a pleasant evening.
