He hit repeatedly with a hoe, on the head and on the rest of the body, for failing to say hello. The Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Palermo Piazza Verdi Company have carried out a precautionary custody order in prison against a 27 year old from Palermo accused of attempted murder of a neighbor.
The brutal attack for a “failure to say hello”
The events took place one afternoon in early April, near via Umberto Maddalena. The suspect, after yet another heated argument with a neighbor – this time perhaps due to a “failure to say hello” – it would have the 54-year-old was attacked from behind who was walking away, hitting him brutally and repeatedly to the head and the rest of the body with a hoe. The victim, transported to the “Ingrassia” hospital with very serious injuries to the head and limbs, was hospitalized with a guarded prognosis and underwent delicate surgery.
The investigation, which developed immediately following the facts using traditional methodologies, outlined the picture of circumstantial gravity which led to the issuing of the precautionary measure against the 27-year-old who was transferred to the “Lorusso Pagliarelli” prison in Palermo.
