An attempt to robbery with scuffle in the central one via Rome it took place last night in Teverola. They were around 9.30pm when the owner of a local bar was attacked outside the premises of Bank of Napleswhich is located at the intersection with the provincial road that connects to Casaluce. Two criminalsone with a plastic mask and the other hooded, tried to rob the man who had stopped in front of the bank to access the ATM.
One of the two attackers was equipped with a sawn-off shotgun and with that he attacked the victim who however responded to the attack, using a wrench and entering one violent scuffle with the robbers. His son, who was in the car with his father at the time, also arrived to support him. For a few minutes we feared the worst, until from the side of Aversa a car arrived, one Maseratiand the driver, finding himself in front of the scene, according to an initial reconstruction, has accidentally hit the gunman, who lost control and dropped the rifle to the ground. Immediately afterwards he disappeared together with his accomplice.
The rifle and the mask worn by one of the two remained on the ground, the car with which they had approached the victim of the ambush was left on the spot, a Renault Twingo. The two traveled a few meters along via Rome and they disappeared heading towards Street Sheepdog, where waiting for them there was another car driven by other accomplices, who probably remained in the area to act as stakes. The police from the local station immediately went to the scene, where they carried out all the necessary checks.
Father and son reported only minor injuries but the situation could have easily turned into tragedy. The episode caused dismay especially due to the location, which was still very busy at the time of the incident, and due to the particularly aggressive methods. A theme, that of safetywhich was recently addressed in the Teverola’s electoral campaign. From listening to citizens, a strong concern emerged about the resurgence of criminal episodes occurring in the area, located at the center of an important road connection with Aversa and inserted in a very attractive industrial context.
