A boom in attendance with over 4 thousand courses served. The first edition of La Toscana in Bocca hit the mark: in the two evenings (7 and 8 June) at the Emperor’s Castle the food and wine event managed to triple the attendance of the pilot edition of a year ago. It was promoted by Confcommercio and Fipe Pistoia and Prato as part of Eat Prato, with the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce of Pistoia and Prato and was included in the Vetrina Toscana circuit. La Toscana in Bocca also represented a preview of Arcobaleno d’Estate, the program of events – from 19 to 25 June – promoted by the Tuscany Region together with La Nazione with the support of Toscana Promozione Turistica, Fondazione Sistema Toscana and Vetrina Toscana and with the participation of trade associations, to celebrate the start of the tourist season.

Sixteen of the best restaurateurs, pastry chefs and expert winemakers in the area proposed a journey through the authentic flavors of Prato which was particularly appreciated by the public, thanks also to the intervention of the starred chef Cristiano Tomei on the first evening and characterized by constant musical entertainment ( DJ set and live) which mixed with the tastings. All in a context, that of the Emperor’s Castle, which once again proved to be perfect for the event, generating a combination of taste and beauty particularly appreciated by visitors.

During the second evening the public voted for the best dish of the event: the winner was Primo Bistrot – with its pork morsels with figs and ruspo wine – followed by Quercia di Castelletti and the Il Capriolo restaurant.

“La Toscana in Bocca – comments the director of Confcommercio, Tiziano Tempestini – has amply confirmed, between the Pistoia and Prato editions, how the appeal that food and wine is capable of exerting is enormous. It is an economic asset , tourism and cultural fundamental for the further development of our territories, around which we will have to orient the policies of the near future. Now we aim to consolidate the event and grow further”.
