Volleyball Mercato – The Cavuto “guarantee” and the Bonomi “promise” for Brescia’s ambitions – iVolley Magazine

A guarantee and a promise, Consoli Sferc Centrale Brescia has announced two equally significant innovations, albeit with different specific weights. Here comes Oreste Cavuto, an ex-Italian striker who only a few weeks ago participated in the Champions League triumph in the Super Final in Antalya with Trentino Itas, and the young talented director Matteo Bonomi, coming from nearby Volley Montichiari.

Cavuto After seven seasons in the Super League played between Trento, Ravenna and Cisterna he returns to A2 where in the 2016/2017 season with the Bergamo shirt he met Brescia in always heated derbies. Cavuto is a spiker. In the last three years in Trento he has won an Italian Super Cup, a scudetto and a few weeks ago the aforementioned prestigious continental trophy. His list of achievements in the blue jersey also includes a U23 world bronze and a gold at the Mediterranean Games.

“I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and above all this club which has represented volleyball in Brescia for years also in light of these last two trophies won, the Italian Cup and the Super Cup. The great expectations of Atlantis convinced me to accept this challenge – explains Cavuto – and we certainly don’t want to hide. The first step will be to create a cohesive group to then be as united as possible in the challenges we will face in this long season. All my colleagues have always spoken highly of this company to me and so I can’t wait to use all my experience and all my enthusiasm.”

Matteo Bonomi, a promising new setter born in 2006, arrives from the Volley Montichiari Serie B team. He has been paid attention to by the Azzurri selectors for a couple of seasons. Precise hands, leg speed and determination are his main qualities. “It’s an honor for me to play in this club and test myself in a high-level championship – explains Matteo in his first words as a Toucan – I have great expectations for this year and I can’t wait to start training alongside a great master like Simone Tiberti.”
