Corriere dello Sport: “Serie B. Bari, pressing on D’Aversa”

Today’s edition of “Il Corriere dello Sport” focuses on Bari’s pressure on D’Aversa.

Bari is back in charge for D’Aversa. The chances that the Stuttgart coach will sit on the Cesena bench are decreasing. Having missed yesterday’s match with the Romagna club, already scheduled for some time, there is a good chance that Bari will be able to prevail. The alternatives would lead to Pippo Inzaghi, also courted by Pisa, and Mimmo Toscano, also in Bari’s sights but still linked to Cesena after bringing him back to Serie B with record-breaking feats.

AT THE TOP OF DESIRES. Roberto D’Aversa is at the top of Bari and Cesena’s desires but the issue to be resolved is the contract to have him sign at Serie A figures since in Lecce he earned half a million per season. D’Aversa has been in contact with Cesena for some time, frequent contacts with the Cesena star Fabio artigianato, his partner for three months (2000-01) in Pescara who passed from Delio Rossi to Galeone. Once an agreement was reached on the word, it was necessary to move on to the decisive meeting to put pen to paper. A two-year contract is ready with an option until 2027 in the event of promotion to Serie A. But upon Arctic’s return from Valle d’Aosta there was no signature. Bari has never made a secret of the fact that its desire is to have D’Aversa on the red and white bench, but given the beginning of the agreement with Cesena it preferred not to force the timing. But now the chances of D’Aversa sitting on the Cesena bench next year, however, seem much diminished compared to a few days ago.

BUS LANE. The flashback for D’Aversa would logically decrease the interest in Pippo Inzaghi who would already be in contact with Pisa from Formentera while waiting for the Tuscan club to reach a consensual resolution with Aquilani. Alternatively, Bari would focus on Mimmo Toscano. But the first choice would remain D’Aversa with the blessing of Antonio Conte who would open a preferential lane to Bari also in the future. Waiting between today and tomorrow for the new director Giuseppe Magalini to be made official, the legendary captain Valerio Di Cesare has said stop. After a long reflection at the age of forty-one he stopped, leaving behind 524 games and 36 goals, 21 with Bari, almost a bomber’s haul. He will continue his relationship with Bari as a manager alongside Magalini, completing a perfect circle.
