The vote for the regional elections in the capital allows us to resume some considerations on the fate of the Manassero Council. It must be recognized that the result of the PD was excellent compared to the difficulties and events that weigh on the first town. Evidently on city issues the desire to act as a barrier to the right with a useful vote prevailed. Although it is not possible to compare the votes with the municipal ones, some indications emerge.
The center right totaled 49.16% (Fdi 22.41%, Civica Cirio 13.17%, Lega 6.91%, FI 6.26% and Moderates 0.42%). The centre-left 44.31% (PD 28%, AVS 7.22%, Pentenero list 3.68%, United States 2.89% and Civica Ambiente 2.32%). The Cuneo Centro council group, the main list of the majority that governs the city, expressed precisely that 13.17% which by voting for Cirio gave the centre-right a virtual majority in the city. In fact, if we move that vote to the left, the percentage with which Manassero won in the run-off is approximately 57.48 (it was 63). The Mayor will be able to pretend nothing has happened and try to move forward as she can with a “centre-left-right” majority or her party will intervene to untie this political knot that is blocking the most relevant choices for the future.
