Abitare, from the Latin “habitare” in a figurative sense “ ”,””. From here sprouts the project conceived by Equilibrio Dinamico (under 35 dance production company, recognized by the Mic) and created with the support of the Municipality of Andria – Department of Beauty, Culture, Cultural Heritage, Art and Sport, Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, Festival Castel of the Worlds and the Mediterranean AREA – Artists in the Territories curated by ResExtensa | Gateway to the East – National Dance Production Centre.
The call is now open to nominate multidisciplinary projects, whose predominant language is dance. To apply, you must complete the online form, https://bit.ly/4aXcKyMin its entirety, and must be sent with the relevant attachments by 11.59pm on 06/23/2024. During the “Abitare” residency, young authors will be hosted in unique spaces to give shape to their artistic vision. Two projects will be selected, with the language of site-specific contemporary dance, which will transform the most evocative places of Andria, Puglia into living laboratories of artistic expression and poetry. The beneficiaries of the ABITARE 2024 program will be male and female artists or working groups who have nominated a site-specific performance project capable of combining, in a multidisciplinary perspective, the language of contemporary dance with at least one other artistic discipline (for example: theater physical, contemporary circus, live music…). Each selected creative project will be developed through n. 1 creative residency.
The residencies will take place in Andria in the period between 1 and 15 July 2024, in the former municipal slaughterhouse – urban laboratory and in the “Giuseppe Ceci” municipal library. On July 15, on the final day, the first return of the artistic residency to the city is scheduled. The results of the residencies will be presented Also in the 2024 edition of the Castel dei Mondi International Festival and in the 24/25 season of ResExtensa | Gateway to the East – National Dance Production Centre.
