Solidarity and protest movements for the Palestinian people. Yesterday I am the curtains are back on the courtyard of Palazzo Bo, in Padua, where the session of the Academic Senate was held this afternoon.
The protesting university students asked for the session to be held with open doors, to assert their demands to interrupt all relations with Israel and arms manufacturing companies. The demonstrators attempted to enter when the senators entered but among themselves Digos intervened and the University security that prevented students from entering.
In May Palazzo Bo had been occupied by tents for a week, the protest culminated on May 14th on the occasion of the Senate session, in which a motion was unanimously approved condemning the violence of the Israeli army in Gaza and the green light for the financing of 5 scholarships for Palestinian students, so that they can come to study in Padua.

Demonstrating that we can regain control of the decisions of institutions such as the University, contesting the policies of our government, the European Union and NATO, allows us to make the contradictions of the capitalist and imperialist system, which in Palestine shows its nature of violence and oppression. Because of this we cannot accept forms of discussion other than public discussion: We want the active academic community to participate in a public academic Senate, which discusses our motion on the academic boycott.”
