The weather alert for Wednesday in Milan
The functional natural risk monitoring center of the Lombardy Region has issued an orange (moderate) alert for storm risk and a yellow (ordinary) alert for hydrogeological risk from 6pm on Tuesday until 6am on Wednesday. A meeting of the UCL, the local crisis unit of the Municipality of Milan, was convened with the participation of the Civil Protection Authority and the departments concerned, to examine the situation and evaluate the actions to be taken. The Municipal Operations Center (Coc) of the Civil Protection is active to coordinate any interventions.
During the weather alert, Palazzo Marino invites residents not to stay in the areas at risk of flooding of the two rivers and near the underpasses. Furthermore, please remember not to stop under or near trees and near construction site scaffolding, outdoor areas and tents. It is important to ensure the safety of objects and vases on balconies and all artefacts that can be moved by the weather. It is also important to pay attention to weather phenomena during outdoor events, in order to prevent dangerous situations.
