TRENT. L’orange alert it’s for the Lombardy, but between today, Tuesday 11 June, and tomorrow, heavy rain, thunderstorms and hail will still be recorded throughout northern Italy. The warning forecasts from late afternoon today scattered to widespread precipitation, mainly showers or thunderstorms, up Piedmont, Lombardy and Friuli Venezia Giulia, extending tomorrow to Emilia-Romagna and the autonomous province of Bolzano.

This is what was communicated by the civil protection department: on the basis of the foreseen and ongoing phenomena, it has been evaluated for tomorrow, Wednesday 12 June, orange alert for risk of thunderstorms in part of Lombardy, yellow alert in parts of Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and the autonomous province of Bolzano, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Umbria. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.

A vast trough, with its center of action on Scandinavia, affects a large part of Europe and reaches our northern regions, determining highly unstable weather conditionswith predominantly downpours or thunderstorms, locally also intense.

Based on the available forecasts, the civil protection department in agreement with the regions involved – to which it is responsible the activation of civil protection systems in the affected territories – issued a further warning of adverse weather conditions. The weather phenomena, impacting the different areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the department website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
