LECCE – There are 29 municipalities in Salento called to renew their municipal council: these are Andrano, Bagnolo del Salento, Botrugno, Campi Salentina, Carpignano Salentino, Copertino, Corsano, Castri di Lecce, Cursi, Giuggianello, Lecce, Lequile, Martignano, Miggiano, Minervino di Lecce, Morciano di Leuca, Muro Leccese, Neviano, Novoli, Palmariggi, Parabita, Seclì, Soleto, Sternatia, Supersano, Surano, Tiggiano, Tuglie, Zollino (here are the details of the challenges).
THE COUNT IN PROGRESS
The counting of the municipal elections began at 2 pm today. There are some slowdowns in the operations of individual polling stations.
THE FIRST MAYORS ELECTED
Meanwhile, there are already two new mayors elected: these are two reconfirmations that ran alone, namely Luca Benegiamo with “More Civic Sense” in Giuggianello and Lorenzo Ricchiuti a Morciano di Leuca with the “Avanti Uniti per Morciano 4.0” list: it will be unclear with what percentages, but having exceeded the quorum (77.50% in the first municipality and 75.85% in the second) gives them the certainty of re-election.
THE OTHER MUNICIPALITIES
To Andrano one section out of five closed with the outgoing mayor Salvatore Musarò slightly ahead of his opponent Alessandro Panico. TO BotrugnoSilvano Macculi is moving towards reconfirmation and his fourth election as mayor.
TO Salento fieldsfrom the first projections, a clear advantage for the outgoing mayor, Alfredo Fina, who is heading towards reconfirmation in the challenge with Serena Assenzio.
TO Lequile, in the three-way race, there would be a temporary advantage for the outgoing Vincenzo Carlà over the former mayor Fabio Lettere; chases Antonio Filograna.
