POLITICS. European elections 2024: turnout sharply declining
European elections of 8 and 9 June. The results are being defined. As regards the metropolitan area of Venice, as in the rest of Italy, turnout was clearly decreasing: 48.9% of those entitled to vote went to vote, while in the previous round of 2019 it was 60%. The figure for the Region stands at 52.9%. Again as regards the Venetian, Noale, where people also voted for the local elections, is the municipality where the greatest number of voters went to the polls, i.e. 65.86%. The municipality with the lowest turnout is Pramaggiore with 40.2%.
POLITICS. Brothers of Italy first party in the Venetian area
As regards the political alignments, Fratelli d’Italia is the leading party in the Venetian territory, with 34.6% of the votes. The Democratic Party follows with 23.2%. Unlike what was recorded at a national level, the League with 11% of the preferences remains above Forza Italia, which obtained 7.8% of the votes. The Green-Left Alliance obtained 6.8% of the votes, ahead of the 5 Star Movement which received 6%. As regards the other parties, they stopped below the threshold of 4%, in line with the national data: Action at 3.8%, United States of Europe at 3.3%, Peace, Earth and Dignity with 2.2% and all the others under 1%.
NEWS. Stra, caught taking a photo of the ballot at the polling station
Yesterday afternoon in Stra, where in addition to the European elections there are also municipal elections underway, the case broke out of a voter who was discovered while taking a photo of his ballot paper. The event happened at polling station 3. The scrutineers heard the sound of the shutter, the “click” so to speak, after which they called the Carabinieri, the ballot was confiscated and the voter was taken away.
POLITICS. Municipal elections, counting from 2pm
Starting from 2 pm today, Monday 10 June, the counting of the ballots for the municipal elections is scheduled, which, we remind you, involved 16 Venetian municipalities, namely Spinea, Noale, Scorzè and Portogruaro, for which being the most populous, a possible run-off is foreseen. Everything in the first round instead for the less populous municipalities, i.e. Annone, Camponogara, Ceggia, Cinto, Cona, Concordia, Fossalta di Piave, Fossalta di Portogruaro, Gruaro, Meolo, Stra, Teglio.
