European elections in Torre del Greco: Pd boom, M5S collapse. Fratelli d’Italia surpasses Forza Italia
Greek’s tower. The European elections crown the Democratic Party as the first party in the shadow of Vesuvius. It is the first result of the race to the polls for Strasbourg in Torre del Greco: the Dels came close to six thousand preferences (27.34%, seven points more than the 2019 European elections) and trailed the M5S by a thousand votes, stuck at 23.30%. .
The Grillini themselves – in line with the collapse at a national level – recorded the largest leap (backwards) compared to the previous European consultations: 4,000 votes and 19 percentage points lost.
In the Dem list, Per’s independent “shines”: Nicola Campanile receives more than a thousand votes, confirming the rise of the Catholic list in Torre del Greco.
On the centre-right front, however, there was an “overtaking” of the Brothers of Italy over Forza Italia: the loyalists of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni took home 3,542 preferences (16.41%) ahead of the orphans of Silvio Berlusconi – who took to the field with a large group of city councilors, former or in office – stuck at 2,416 votes (11.19%).
Therefore, the results of 2019 were completely reversed when Forza Italia stood at 10.8% (2,378 votes) and FdI – growing at the time, but far from the boom of recent years – stopped at 5% (1,102 votes).
The Green Alliance and the Left did well – thanks to the «driving force» of Francesco Emilio Borrelli – and Action, with 1,641 votes (7.60%) and 972 preferences respectively.
