«A project that involved multiple heads and multiple minds. Thanks to those who launched into this adventure. The risk of flop in these cases is high, but we can already say that in part it is a gamble that has already been won.” These are the words of Marco Diamanti, the sculptor from Terni who is one of the main actors in the operation which, over the weekend, will allow the official unveiling of the 4.65 meter high steel maxi Thyrus (without the base) at the Filipponi roundabout (in front of the Chaos): Monday morning the presentation of the ‘Dragon Days’ in the Pirro room at Palazzo Carrara. The Thyrus ready

«An intuition of local artists – the councilor for culture Michela Bordoni introduced the topic – to pay homage to our symbol, Terni must come out of its shell and project itself into the contemporary, this work is modern. And the positioning of the statue is not a point of arrival, but of departure.” Colleagues Viviana Altamura, Riccardo Corridore, Giovanni Maggi and finally Bandecchi himself also spoke about it: «We thank those who materially built it and the creator. The project was stuck in a drawer and was realized because the council changed. An important moment for Terni, I wouldn’t limit myself only to the statue itself”, the words of the mayor. The Thyrus association is behind it all. «The inauguration ceremony will begin at 7.30 pm, in the presence of the authorities, accompanied by an ensemble with the music of Ennio Morricone and a dance show curated by the Musical Academy». This will happen on June 15th. The Thyrus weighs approximately 9.5 tons with 400 stacked steel plates.
