The Tuscan final of the poetry slam championship at Villa Bardini

In recent years, the Poetry Slam has become a cultural phenomenon followed closely by a mainly young but increasingly transversal audience, a way of sharing one’s worlds, one’s joys and one’s fears on a stage in a collective party where in the end it counts It’s not much who wins but it’s more important to have spent an evening together in the name of poetry.

The Tuscan final of the national Poetry Slam championship (as part of Estate Fiorentina 2024 – initiative proposed in the Operational Plan of the City of Florence”) will be held at Villa Bardini on Friday 14 June starting from 7pm under the supervision of the Ripescati Dalla Piena, the poetic collective that increasingly presents itself as an emerging reality in the panorama of Florentine cultural offerings.

Serena Rose Zerri (last year’s winner), Danna, Sofia Zoli, Arianna Armanetti, Gabriel Mastrandrea, Francesco Olmastroni, Giuliano Logos and Max Brod will compete for access to the national finals in September on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the birth of the Italian League Poetry Slam.
Two heats in which the poets will try to win the vote of the 5 jurors chosen from the public, through their own pieces lasting a maximum of 3 minutes, without the aid of music.

Entrance is free thanks to the contribution of the Municipality of Florence and the hospitality offered by the Villa Bardini Foundation and CR Foundation and the evening begins at 7.30 pm with the opening of Proxima Parada, the spoken music duo in which the poems of Luca Bernardini (another well-known name on the Italian slam scene) are wonderfully accompanied by Daniele Ramisti’s guitar.
