Among the historical and architectural wonders of our city there is the lighthouse, a monument that has always fascinated adults and children and which represents the union of the Molfetta people with the sea.
Molfetta is one of the oldest lighthouses in Puglia. The lighthouse stands on the elbow between the said outer pier Seminar dock and the San Michele pier of the port. It consists of an octagonal tower in the shape of a truncated pyramid in light stone and was built in 1853 and activated in 1857.
Starting from June 29th it will be possible to visit the lighthouse thanks to the Molfetta tourist association Pro Loco, committed to valorising the ancient city traditions and promoting cultural-tourism initiatives in the area. There are four dates scheduled: June 29thThe July 6The August 31st and the September 14th.
Accompanied by expert guides, visitors will be able to learn about the history of our port and the lighthouse, as well as reaching the top to admire the city and the coast from above. Participation is permitted by reservation only.
For the visit on June 29th the deadline for bookings is June 21st. While for the dates of July 6th you can book by June 28th, for that of August 31st by the 22nd of the same month and for the last date of September 14th the deadline for booking is set at September 5th.
The groups will consist of a maximum of 7 people. Below are some precautions and logistical and organizational suggestions: the rooms are narrow and not suitable for those suffering from claustrophobia and children.
