European elections, the most voted candidates in Torre del Greco

European elections, counting finished in Torre del Greco: here are the most voted candidates in the city of coral.

European elections, the most voted candidates

The supreme winner of European elections 2024 in Torre del Greco it was evident well before the polls opened: his name is abstention. About 2 out of 3 citizens have legitimately chosen not to choose, deserting the polls and relegating the coral city to the bottom of the rankingsturnout with a slim 32.79%reached only in the evening hours of yesterday, Sunday 9 June.

Thanks to the sultry days, the desire for the sea, the weekend of first communions: it’s easy to find an “excuse” for not going to the polls for the people of Torre di Torre. Even more so when the list of candidates did not present familiar, local names, on none of the lists. In a consultation that enhances all disaffection – especially among the younger ones – not only for politics in general but for the European institution in particular.

First Topo of the PD, the M5S second party

With zero candidates from the area, the citizens of Torre del Torino have however rewarded the leading parties of the city government, PD and M5Swhich bring home respectively the 27% and 23% of preferences. The most voted in Torre del Greco was Raffaele Topo with 2,570 votes: former deputy, former regional councilor and mayor of Villaricca from 2001 to 2010, strongly supported by the local “dems”. In Elly Schlein’s party, even the journalist just exceeds a thousand preferences Lucia Annunziata (1051 votes), came to visit the city a week ago, and Nicola Campanile (1041), expression of Catholics of FOR the People and the Community.

Among the five-star members is the former INPS president Pasquale Tridicoalso recently a guest in Torre del Greco, which however does not go beyond 913 preferences: confirming the trend that sees the M5S as protagonists of the so-called “opinion” vote disconnected from names and faithful to the symbol.

Boom in votes for Meloni, “virtual” candidate

The third city party is the Brothers of Italy: the prime minister’s party takes the 16% of votes. Over half of these (1909) went right to Giorgia Melonileader of the list, who however will probably never leave the leadership of Palazzo Chigi for a seat in the European Parliament.

In fourth place is the symbol that bears the name of the deceased Silvio Berlusconi: the “one and three” reality with Forza Italia, Noi Moderati and PPE stops at11%. A percentage driven by Fulvio Martuscielloa long-career politician in the ranks of FI and outgoing MEP, collects 1129 preferences. The good result of the Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra team was also confirmed in Torre del Greco: 7.60% of the votes. The most voted of the group was Francesco Emilio Borrelli with 668 preferences.
