On the morning of June 10th the names of the 20 new MEPs of the college ofNorth-Western Italybut some fixed points on the candidates who refer to the province of Varese they may already be fixed.
At the end of the polls in the college, the only one certainly leaving for Strasbourg is Mario Mantovani for Fratelli d’Italia, who collected 38,801 votes, coming third on his list after Giorgia Meloni and Carlo Fidanza.
Excellent result also for Isabella Tovaglieri on the League list: collecting 39,805 votes, she placed third after Roberto Jannacci and Silvia Sardone. Now his actual election depends on the choices on Vannacci (If he is elected in another constituency Tovaglieri could get the second seat) and on the possibility for the League to obtain a third seat in this constituency.
The reconfirmation of the adopted Varese is also very likely Maria Angela Danzifor the 5 Star Movement: with 14,590 votes she is second on the list after Gaetano Pedullà.
Far from the objective of the election however Marco Reguzzonifor Forza Italia, which on Saturday also received an extraordinary endorsement from Umberto Bossi, but obtained 7293 votes, a far cry from the tens of thousands obtained by Antonio Tajani, Letizia Moratti and Massimiliano Salini in the list in which he ran as an independent.
Nothing to do either Marco Colombo (FdI) which with 6245 votes is at the rear of the Fratelli d’Italia list.
Great performance but no chance of even getting in for Andrea Cegnacame ninth in the Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra list with 5,615 votes.
For Gianfranco Librandi, which obtained 4498 votes, the European Parliament is however excluded due to the fact that its United States of Europe list does not reach the 4% threshold and therefore remains outside – entirely – of the European Parliament. Same goes for Paolo Alliwhich received 559 votes: its Popular Alternative list is far from reaching the quorum to obtain seats
