BARI At least six Apulians will land in Brussels. According to the first calculations on the distribution of the parties (with a possible uncertainty linked to the remainders) the Decaro effect makes the PD the first party in the South, bringing the number of Dem members elected in Europe to five, a Puglia boom in Fdi – second force in the constituency – which brings three MEPs to Brussels, and two from Puglia also in the new Five Star patrol.
Here is the list: in the Nazarene party Antonio Decaro (almost 500 thousand preferences) is a new MEP, also doubling the result obtained in 2014 by Gianni Pittella (with the Democratic Party at 40% thanks to Matteo Renzi’s exploits). The journalist also goes to Europe with the mayor of Bari Lucia Annunziata, the Campanians Lello Topo and Pina Picierno, and the other journalist and senator Sandro Ruotolo. Before the non-elected, Salento Georgia Tramaceredeputy mayor of Aradeo (elected if the Neapolitan parliamentarian decided to remain in Rome).
In Fratelli d’Italia Giorgia Meloni hits the mark, followed by Alberico Gambino from Campania, and by Canosino Francesco Ventola (over 88 thousand preferences). Then the Calabrian Denis Nesci (outgoing) and the Bari native Michele Picaro (over 54 thousand preferences). The fifth seat will go to the other incumbent, Chiara Gemmaacademic of the University of Bari (around 46 thousand votes).
Among the Five Stars, in addition to the leaders Pasquale Tridico, the Ostuni girl arrives in Europe Valentina Palmisano (former parliamentarian, with 43 thousand preferences) and the outgoing Foggiano Mario Furore (over 38 thousand).
No Apulian elected representative at the moment would emerge from the lists of Forza Italia (Laura De Mola from Fasano is fifth with 28 thousand votes), Lega (Roberto Marti from Salento third with 59 thousand votes) and Alleanza Verdi Sinistra (Taranto’s Rosa D’Amato is fourth with 15 thousand votes, Anna Grazia Maraschio from Salento is fifth with 10 thousand).
