Brescia and Cremona submerged by flooding

A strong disturbance hit Lombardy, causing flooding and numerous requests for intervention, especially in the provinces of Brescia and Cremona. Meanwhile, in Tuscany, a storm caused over 4,000 lightning strikes during the night, with gusts and hailstorms.

A strong disturbance has hit the Lombardy region in the last few hours, causing dozens of requests for intervention by the firefighters. The most affected provinces are Brescia and Cremona, where numerous floods occurred. Fire brigade teams have been mobilized throughout the territory to deal with emergency situations. In support of our Lombard colleagues, Six teams of firefighters also arrived from Emilia Romagna. Rescue operations are still underway and the firefighters are doing everything possible to assist the population affected by the bad weather.

Bad weather in Tuscany, over 4,000 lightning strikes during the night

A strong disturbance occurred during the night central northern Tuscany “with strong gusts and hailstorms”: “Register in this area over 4000 lightning strikes”. Governor Eugenio Giani said this on social media. Yesterday the regional civil protection issued a yellow alert for hydrogeological risk and strong thunderstorms in central-northern Tuscany from 8pm until 8am today.
