Guinness world record strokes. In the pool at the age of ninety to break a record. An unprecedented ‘M320 4 x 100 mixed’ relay team made up of the four musketeers from the Garden sports club in Rimini achieved the Italian record in the difficult swimming specialty. The organizers of the Italo Galluzzi International Masters Meeting are verifying through the competition judges and the Italian Swimming Federation whether it can also be a European or world record.

The company’s theater was the municipal swimming pools of Città di Castello. In the men’s 4×100 mixed relay, category M320, Ermete Caleri, 67 years old, originally from Rimini, first competitor in backstroke, Pierfranco Agrestini, 84 years old, from Bologna, breaststroke style, and the other two swimmers from Rimini who share a passion for sport, Giuseppe Fantini, 85 years old, dolphin style, and Filiberto Bonduà, almost 90 years old, free style and last competitor, took part in this relay for the first time in Italy, thus setting the record. The athletes from Romagna are not new to such feats, but they had never attempted the relay with one hundred meter sections. In the evening, at the end of the races and after the party, they took the car back, driven both on the outward and return journey by the ‘captain’ of the company, the 89-year-old Bonduà, to return to Rimini.
