Public spaces closing, recreational and cultural activities in crisis due to the disappearance of realities that were once the point of reference for the people of the neighborhood. The cry of alarm comes from Collective 20092, who yesterday, Saturday 8 May, organized an afternoon in the amphitheater of the Piazzetta del Sole in via Brunelleschi to talk about services and public spaces, but also about the right to housing. Reference was made, among other things, to at the former association house in via Alberti, which after being the headquarters of district 4 from the 70s to the 90s, was animated by various non-profit organizations that carried out various activities in the area serving the population. “For a question of costs, however, the associations had to leave the space”. The situation in the suburbs and in particular S. Eusebio appears particularly critical. The situation is there for all to see municipal swimming pool in via Alberti, which was closed at the outbreak of the pandemic and “today is in a state of absolute abandonment, while another public space like that in via Giolitti 1, not far away, is on the list for sale”. The deterioration of the swimming pool appears accentuated by the presence of numerous writings on the walls. During the afternoon we talked about the criteria for using Villa Forno and also other structures such as, for example, the Marconi Cinema closed since 2011 and Cascina Cornaggia “which for years has needed redevelopment and instead is in a state of abandonment”. The afternoon ended with a snack chalk games for children.
