COSENZA – After having first threatened some people with a large knife in front of a bar near Viale Parco, and then some passers-by, a man, in a clear state of agitationwas blocked and arrested by the police of the Flying Squad and the UPGSP squad cars, who operated together with colleagues from the Northern Calabria Crime Prevention Department, in a central street of the city, while he shouted incoherent phrases. For several minutes you created fear and panic among people in the center of Cosenzaalso threatening some passers-by.
It all happened yesterday morning. The policemen on duty to control the territory had been alerted by some frightened citizens by the presence of a man who, armed with a knife, threatened people near a bar. Lo himself in possession of a large knife, subsequently seized, also waved the blade near the faces of people, as well as towards the managers of a bar, in a clear state of agitation. The reported man was tracked down by a team from the Crime Prevention Department, in a central street of the city, while he was shouting incoherent phrases. The officers ordered him to drop the weapon and get on the ground. They then proceeded to block the man and to seize the large kitchen knife approximately 30 cm long.
The subsequent investigations made it possible to reconstruct the criminal episodes of which the man had been the protagonist, before the intervention of the Police, also thanks to theanalysis of the images from the video surveillance systems, as well as of a video played with a cell phone by a passer-by and acquired in the records. Once the formalities had been completed, the man was arrested and subsequently placed under house arrest.
