Via Cavallotti is transformed: the removal of the asphalt completed – Varesenoi.it

The redevelopment works of via Cavallotti in Busto Arsizio have reached a significant point: the asphalt has been completely removed. This first phase, part of the broader project to enhance Via Cavallotti, Bramante and Porta, has sparked numerous reactions among citizens.

The project involves the pedestrianization of the three streets, which will then become Ztl (limited traffic zone). The works on the street began on June 3rd (read here) and are expected to finish on August 29th and, after this first phase of asphalt removal, the construction of a new flooring coplanar in natural stone (porphyry cubes), new seats and outdoor spaces and renovation of the rainwater collection and disposal system.

Once these have been completed, we will move on to the interventions in via Bramante and Porta (read here to find out about the works planned in these two streets).

But in the meantime, the transformation of via Cavallotti into a limited traffic area has been met with different reactions from citizens. The Cavallotti Garden experimentation had already fueled the debate on how to make this area more livable and attractive, and now, with the work underway, the enthusiasm of many is palpable. Comments such as “nice”, regarding the project that will be implemented, and “good”, regarding the pedestrianization of the street, seem to prevail among passers-by, who see in this project an opportunity to improve the quality of life in the center of Busto Arsizio .
