They are well 18 wines from the provinces of Rome and Latina awarded in the important International Wine Competition Città del Vino 2024.

In the province of Rome, 8 wines from Castelli Romani as well as 1 from Nettuno have obtained the “Gold Medal”. In the province of Latina in 3 wineries they brought home 9 gold medals.

Only three wineries (2 Pontine and 1 from Castelli Romani) brought home 11 gold medals.

The Città del Vino International Wine Competition

Reached his 22nd edition, is known as “Mayor’s Selection”. A name that tells all about the originality of the competition. The Mayor of a Wine City ideally presents his wines in review to enhance the quality of local wine production.

In fact, the spirit is to reiterate the value of the relationship between wine and territory by rewarding companies and municipalities together.

The competition is organized by the National Association of Wine Cities, founded in Siena on 21 March 1987.

It has an itinerant and international character. It always takes place in different places and wineries from all over the world participate.

There Jury is made up of around 60 commissioners including winemakers, buyers, importers, technicians and journalists from Italy and abroad. All categories of wines can be entered, as long as they are DOP (Doc and Docg) and IGP.

The wine samples provided by the wineries participating in the competition are tasted anonymouslyThat is, the jurors, when they taste a wine, do not know its label.

Grand Gold, Gold and Silver Medals are up for grabs, which are in fact a certificate of certification of the quality of the wines.
