Yesterday there was a lot of fear. The damage, apparently, was limited to the room where the fire broke out but the smoke invaded the entire building. Accumulations of waste and materials of various kinds have caught fire and now we will have to proceed with their removal and reclamation. The anger of the condominium owners for the risky and dangerous situation caused by these accumulations by the owner of this place is understandable.
The firefighters intervened yesterday with three “departures”, two tankers, the ladder truck, ARA truck, around 25 firefighters involved. Two people were brought to safety with the ladder truck and a special “hood” which gives oxygen to the unfortunate people throughout the evacuation operation. Two animals, a dog and a cat, were also saved. At 10pm the police were still at work. The local police, with a large deployment of people, and the Carabinieri are on site. Mayor Vitantonio Petronella personally ascertained the situation and followed the various operations. 118, the Municipality’s managers and technicians, and the Municipality’s social service also intervened. The matter is also followed by the local health authority for health and hygiene aspects. Two trucks also entered the building yesterday evening to remove some vehicles inside which materials and waste of all kinds were also “crammed”.
