Padua. Europa Park, events and music all year round in the Crystal Garden

PADUA – The agreement between the Municipality and theMame association who manages the Europa Park at Stanga and now the events will last all year round. This was announced yesterday by the councilor for public green areas, Antonio Bressa, who on Tuesday had the council approve a resolution modifying the concession of the green area to the association headed by Antonio Colella.

THE SITUATION

«The old agreement included, among the various obligations of the concessionaire – explained Bressa – the organization of events, the painting of the gate and the railing of the park and the creation of paving with reinforced lawn and underground cable ducts». Works worth around 100 thousand euros which, to date, have not been carried out. In the meantime, however, Mame had denounced the inadequacy of the Crystal Garden, the large greenhouse located inside Parco Europa. The problems involved water infiltration and an inadequate heating and cooling system. Circumstances that would have made it problematic for the concessionaire to organize events, especially during the winter season.
Not only. Some critical issues would have also concerned the adults concerts organized by Mame during the summer with the “Parco della Musica” event, which attracted thousands of people, making it difficult to guarantee the safety of the area. Review that will change radically. The organizers have presented an appeal to the TAR linked to the request for damages for the non-use of the greenhouse. In a subsequent phase, however, a discussion arose with the Municipality and a solution was reached.

«The association will take care of the renovation of the greenhouse and, in exchange, will no longer have to carry out the work on the gate and the lawn – added Bressa -. To avoid the problems associated with large concerts, this year Mame has given up the large stage used for the “Music Park” and will organize shows with a maximum of 1,500 people during the summer. The news is that, thanks to the recovery of the greenhouse, events in the park will be able to be held all year round.” Also in the resolution approved on Tuesday the agreement was extended for another 5 years.
In the meantime, the shows of the renewed “Parco della Musica” format continue. Last night, Solo Horse performed, pseudonym of Michele Menini, a DJ and producer from Padua with experience in creating soundtracks. He has released remixes and unreleased songs under the alias Robin Beatman, sharing the stage with artists from the local and national scene. Wednesday is the last date for the Euphoria evenings. In short, the Giordani council continues to focus on the valorization of city parks. An enhancement that also passes through the organization of exhibitions, not just summer ones, capable of attracting thousands of people.
