As easy as stealing sweets from a child, as hateful as deceiving an old woman to steal gold objects from her. It is yet another coup carried out by gangs of scammers ready to deceive those who are older. This time, however, it went badly for him. The Pesaro flying squad led by manager Paolo Badioli arrested them on Thursday morning after intercepting the suspicious car through the “targasystem” camera system. The stolen goods worth approximately 5000 euros were returned to the rightful owner. Those arrested are a 45-year-old woman and a 16-year-old, both from Naples. They introduced themselves like this on the old woman’s home phone: “I’m a police sergeant, her son ran over a woman. We need 8 thousand euros to prevent her from ending up in prison.” This is the content of the phone call that the 45-year-old made to a 78-year-old from Pesaro.

He told her that the woman hit by her son was in the operating room because she was very serious. “His son has been arrested and is in the police station. He is in a room alone and can’t talk to anyone. If he wants to avoid him going to prison he has to pay 8000 euros.” But the old woman said she didn’t have all that money in her house. “Gold objects are also fine – said the fake marshal -. It will be returned to you when the insurance of your son’s car compensates for the damage. Do this: put all the gold you have on a scale, the officer tells me weight and then places it on the table. A boy, a trusted collaborator of a lawyer’s office, will come to collect it. In the meantime, stay on the phone and I will tell you the declaration which you will then give to the young man to whom you will give the gold”. And in the meantime, the old woman was kept on the phone with the excuse of dictating the delegation while awaiting the arrival of the lawyer’s so-called collaborator (the 16-year-old) who, shortly afterwards, rang the bell to take the gold. A scam system that leaves nothing to chance, studied down to the last gram. The request to weigh the gold, in fact, serves to verify the loyalty of those who go to collect it, so that they do not pocket anything. The flying squad arrested the two, already known and with previous records, who are under investigation for aggravated fraud. The minor was entrusted to the CPA of Bologna, while the accomplice was forced to stay and sign daily at the Naples police station.
