THE SKIES ARE LOADED WITH SAND – SILKY HEAT – TOMORROW EVEN WORSE

TUSCANY WEATHER. Saturday which returns to take on African connotations also in Tuscany where the sky is mostly clouded with thickenings (always of a high type) more significant in the north of the Region.

In addition to the veils, which are sometimes compact, there is also an increase in suspended sand on our skies which are taking on increasingly milky/yellowish hues. The map below shows the sand concentrations at an altitude of 5000 metres, clearly showing the involvement of Tuscany.

We report in the province of Massa Carrara, especially close to the hills, some modest precipitation episodes characterized by “dirty drops” due to the presence of the aforementioned sand arriving from North Africa.

The maximum temperatures were quite high, exceeding 32 degrees in the province of Grosseto, but the heat indices were also high: sultry heat which makes the perceived temperature much higher than what can be read on the thermometers.

An example for everyone: 28 on the mercury column with 58% humidity correspond to approximately 34°C perceived.

SILKY HEAT AND SAND, EVEN WORSE TOMORROW.

The situation will not improve tomorrow when we will still have often cloudy skies and muggy conditions due to a potential increase in humidity rates especially in central-southern Tuscany.

A further increase in the concentration of sandy dust is also expected, so let’s expect an often gloomy day.

All this while waiting for a worsening which can be placed between late evening and night during which, especially in the first phase, sandy rain may fall.
