The mother, a 28-year-old woman, did not have time to get to the hospital. At the first signs, an ambulance was also called but the paramedics arrived on site only after she had given birth.

It all started when it wasn’t yet 7. For the mother of the unborn, the night also passed with a certain amount of anxiety about yet another seismic swarm that occurred in the Campi Flegrei. And this must have been, perhaps, the reason that induced her premature birth. But this is a guess. The fact is that the girl was initially comforted also by other families who were spending the weekend in the beach houses of the seaside resort.
Two women, seeing the situation worsening, then helped her give birth. In those excited moments, there wasn’t even a pair of scissors to be found to cut the umbilical cord and someone ran to the resort bar. “We have them, of course, but they should be sterilized first,” was the answer given by the young man behind the counter.
