Livorno Voting operations continue in Livorno, with the polls opening at 3pm, after some problems arose with the scrutineers who, in many cases, did not show up. That is, many citizens who had been selected by the municipality’s electoral office gave up, forcing the civic palace and many presidents to take action to find replacements. Today (Saturday 8 June) we will vote until 11pm and tomorrow (Sunday 9 June) from 7am to 11pm. The people of Livorno entitled to vote are 136,265 in total, of which 65,388 are male and 70,877 female. However, 133,388 (63,855 males and 69,533 females) have the right to vote for the renewal of the European Parliament. Non-EU or stateless citizens residing in Livorno – there are 8,024 – will also be able to vote for the deputy councilor based on article 22 of the Statute of the Municipality of Livorno.

The 172 city polling stations opened at 3pm and will remain open until 11pm. Then, another shift, tomorrow from 7am to 11pm. Tomorrow, immediately after the polls close, the counting operations for the European Parliament will begin, while the counting of votes for the municipal elections will take place starting from 2pm the following day, Monday 10 June.

How to vote
To vote you must show up at your polling station (the number is shown on the electoral card) with your electoral card and an identity document (identity card or other identification document issued by a public administration or a professional association, provided that it has of photography). In the event that, due to theft, loss or other circumstances, the voter finds himself without any document, extraordinary openings of the Central Registry Office (Piazza del Municipio 50) and the service desks at citizen of the northern area (piazza Saragat 1) and the southern area (via Settembrini 33): the latter will be open access (without reservation) today from 10am to 7pm and tomorrow from 7am to 11pm for identity cards and electoral cards. For other registry problems, it is necessary to contact the central registry offices (in Piazza del Municipio). To issue new electoral cards, contact the Electoral Office in Piazza del Municipio 50, on the first floor, open today from 9am to 11pm and tomorrow from 7am to 11pm.
